Summary: Dario Kordic, one of the leading political figures in the Bosnian Croat community and former member of the presidency of the unrecognized Croat-led statelet of Herceg-Bosna, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for war crimes. He was convicted of planning, instigating and ordering crimes in the municipalities of Travnik, Vitez, Busovaca, and Kiseljak in the Lasva Valley area. Mario Cerkez, former commander of the Vitez Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, was sentenced to six years in prison for persecution on political, racial, or religious grounds and the imprisonment and unlawful confinement of civilians.
